Description
A pencil and paper sketch shows Fort Allen on Munjoy Hill in Portland as it appeared in 1845. Fort Allen sits on a hill at the east end of the Portland peninsula and provided good views of Portland Harbor. It was an important point of defense during the War of 1812.
