Description
It is not known just when this colonial style house at 243 South Street was built, but it was standing before 1850 when it was owned by Samuel T. Merrill, whose farm was on this side of the street. Merrill occupied the house for almost fifty years, and after his death it became the home of Carlos H. McKenney, co-owner of McKenney & Heard Hardware, who remodeled it.
