Description
Built in 1849, this house at 34 South Street, corner of Jefferson Street, was occupied from 1856 to 1912 by William H. Field who was prominent in business here for many years. After 1912 it was the home of Dr. H. Willis Hurd, who added the side verandas. The great front columns are original to the 1849 construction.
