Postcard photograph of the back of the American Can Company, built in 1907.
Message on postcard back reads: "Back view of the American Can plant where they make sardine cans. This is a great industry for Lubec. Also the boneless smoked herring business. Girls earn from $2 an hour or $6 per day when the working season is on from April 15 to Dec. 1st. But some work from 6 a.m. till 10:30 p.m. Lubec is a very pretty place built on side of a hill."
