Description
An unidentified artist painted a miniature portrait of James L. Greenleaf (1814-1865).
The son of Simon Greenleaf and Hannah Kingman of Portland, Greenleaf was a merchant in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
He was married to Mary E. Longfellow (1816-1902) of Portland, a daughter of Stephen and Zilpah Longfellow and brother to the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
