Description
John Bradley Hudson (1832-1903) painted Simonton's Cove in Casco Bay with ships and boats.
Hudson, who was born in Portland, studied under Charles Octavius Cole and worked as an ornamental painter decorating signs as well as creating landscape paintings.
His shop was located at 267 Middle St. in Portland.
He also wrote a diary "Journey to the White Mountains," which included many illustrations.
