Description
The Mary C. Mariner is depicted entering the port of Palermo in Sicily in 1868.
She was built in Cape Elizabeth in 1861 and owned by Capt. Silas H. Mariner Sr., captained by Silas H. Mariner Jr., with master George W. Mariner on board.
Writing on the painting says, "Brig Mary C. Mariner G.W. Mariner Master Entering Palermo Cicily Dec 1st 1868 Whitney PT."
