Description
Boatbuilder Ralph Colson (1884-1937), center with pipe, built his first boat at his home in Welchpool, Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Built between ages 14 and 18, he named his 19-ton schooner "Aritus." He later moved to Lubec, where he opened the Colson Boat Shop, repairing and building boats. In 1926 he launched the "Porfico," built for the Portland Fish Company.
