Description
At the rear of the Colson Boat Shop on lower Water Street in Lubec lies the Chester L. Pike still under construction. Note staging about the yet incomplete wheel house. According to an article in The Lubec Herald newspaper quoting builder Herb Colson Sr., “The boat was built with oak timbers, cedar deck frames, and pine planking, and in her bottom twenty-six natural growth timbers which have been seasoned for the past fifteen years.”
