Description
The Colson Boat Shop repaired many boats over the decades including the Medric. In January, 1948, the Medric was converted from steam to a 6 cylinder, Model 37F16, marine diesel engine. Another shipyard removed the old engine and installed the diesel and its accessories. After several runs, it became apparent that the engine could not produce 1200 H.P. without causing substantial damage to the vessel. In January, 1952, the U.S. Court of Appeals Third Circuit found for the defendant in Consolidated Fisheries Co. vs. Fairbanks Morse & Co.
