Description
Roger Vinton Snow of Portland won a competition sponsored by the Maine Publicity Bureau in 1931 for a Maine State Song with his composition, "State of Maine Song."
The sheet music, published by Cressey and Allen of Portland in 1932, bears the hand-written note, "Roger V. Snow's copy Please return."
The Legislature adopted the song as Maine's official state song on March 30, 1937.
