Description
Mary L. Thompson (1867-1931) served as president of the Portland Young Women's Christian Association for 21 years.
A native of New Hampshire, she lived in Portland about 35 years and was very active in the Congregational Church, the YWCA, the League of Women Voters, and the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Gov. Percival Baxter appointed her to be the only woman trustee of Maine General Hospital, a post she held for two terms.
She was the widow of Dr. John F. Thompson.
