Description
The John Flower Shoe Shop appears as the most prominent building in this October 1, 1961 photograph.
In the distance construction of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Bridge, connecting Lubec with Campobello Island, is underway. Note the presence of a crane and temporary cribbing.
Flower's shoe business had moved to this site recently because of imminent demolition of its previous building in the wake of the bridge construction.
