Description
The corner store was the Frank Denbow Grocery Store. The square building behind was the Fred Kelley Bicycle Shop. To the right of Denbow Grocery is a private home, then Miss Hinson’s Bakery later to become the John Flower Shoe Shop. These buildings were removed for re-alignment of Washington Street in preparation for construction of the Roosevelt Bridge to Campobello Island. The shoe shop moved to a building on lower Water Street.
