Description
An unidentified architect or carpenter holds several symbols of his trade: a compass, hinged ruler, and a carpenter's square.
The house wright's group of the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association was represented on a banner in 1841 with symbols such as a block plane, back saw, square, and compass.
