Description
The doll, dressed as a bride, decorated the reception table when Elaine Robinson (1912-1987) and M. Wilder Mitchell (1899-1970) married on June 26, 1939 in Peru.
Mitchell, who ran a sawmill in Mexico, married Robinson, of Canton, at the summer home of Robinson's aunt and uncle in Peru.
Because the home was small, only immediate family and a few friends attended. The ceremony was held at the archway between the dining area and living room.
After the tea-type reception, the couple drove off for their honeymoon. They settled in Mexico.
