Artist Charles Octavius Cole painted this portrait of Fritz H. Jordan (1848-1921) when Jordan was about 3 years old.
Jordan was born in Portland and became a local merchant serving as president of the Portland Club from 1912-1913, and treasurer of the Maine Historical Society for 25 years.
