Description
The gold and black enamel bracelets are in a leather box, lined in silk, with the stamp of J.W. and H.H. McDuffee, who operated a store at the corner of Union and Middle streets in Portland.
A Portland ballad to H.H. McDuffee of 1874 begins, "In Watches, Diamonds, and Gold Chains, McDuffee in his triumph reigns ..."
John W. McDuffee had also operated a jewelry store in Lewiston.
