Description
The earrings and brooch contain hundreds of seed pearls that are sewn onto an mother of pearl back. The jewelry is from Bigelow, Kennard & Co. of Boston.
The jewelry is from the Thompson family of Kennebunk. The pieces may have belonged to Jane Nisbet Lawton Thompson (1849-1930), who was married to Joseph Porter Thompson (1840-1904). The couple married in 1870.
The jewelry is quite delicate because of its construction and the number of pearls.
