Description
Julia Cascaline Dearborn Wingate (1781-1867) of Portland had a daguerreotype made in about 1855.
Wingate was the daughter of Gen. Henry Dearborn, a physician who fought in the American Revolution and was a member of Gen. George Washington's staff. She married Joshua Wingate, postmaster of Portland, and a brigadier general in the Maine Militia.
