Description
"Bibliotheque" at Marie-Joseph Academy, Biddeford Pool, circa 1950. The young women in the picture are preparing their studies and wearing on their jackets the insignia of the Academie Marie-Joseph, an Academy for young women, in Biddeford Pool. The Congregation of the Presentation of Mary has offered a local presence since 1948 when the community purchased the Ocean View Hotel and it then became a young women's boarding school known as Marie Joseph Academy.
