Description
Downtown Old Orchard Beach remains as they looked on October 4, 1948 after the damage from the fire the day before. The entire block of the amusement area (Palace Playland) was destroyed. The burnt area was surrounded by Old Orchard Street, West Grand Avenue, Staples Street and the oceanfront.
