Description

Remains of the fire in downtown Old Orchard Beach taken on October 4, 1948 assessing the damage from the fire the day before. The area burnt was surrounded by Old Orchard Street, West Grand Avenue, Staples Street and the oceanfront. The entire block of the amusement area (Palace Playland) was destroyed.
