Contributed by Congregation Shaarey Tphiloh
Description
The Sisterhood of Shaarey Tphiloh Synagogue sponsored a play entitled "Two Goyim" on March 15, 1948 at the Jewish Community Center in Portland.
Samuel S. Grossman wrote the play in 1926. "Goyim" is usually used somewhat disparagingly to refer to non-Jews.
All of the parts were played by women. Esther Levine "coached" the play. The actors were Sophie Goldberg, Bertha Seavey, Pearl Gerber, Sylvia Gold, Anne Jacobs, Bessie Ross, and Dorothy Yormack.
