Description
The croquis or sketch that shows the front and back of the dress "Creole" and two fabric swatches describes the dress as, "Beautiful evening gown, having in Paris a great success!"
The price is listed as 1700 francs.
Maine artist Mildred Burrage, who had studied and worked in Paris as a young woman, had the drawing and others from the 1930s in her collection, but several letters accompanying the fashion sketches suggest they were sent to another woman and then shared with Burrage.
