Description
W.B. Adams of Raymond, a fifer in the 5th Maine Infantry, wrote to his sister in Maine about "annother skedaddle from Bull Run but not quite so bad as the first."
He wrote frequently to his sister, Dora, who lived in Lewiston. He told her that their father was talking about enlisting and that she should not let him. He wrote, "He will find the difference between trying to Soldier and talking about it."
