Description
During the 1920s there was great patriotic feeling in the United States. Ruth Fairbanks of Portland is dressed in a costume representing the American flag, as part of an Americanization parade.
Born at Portland in 1920 to Seth and Charlotte (Tingely) Fairbanks, Ruth later attended Portland High School. She married John G. Stewart in 1947.
