Description
James W. Poor was from Belfast, served in the 1st Maine Cavalry from October 19, 1861 to August 1, 1865.
Poor was 21 when he enlisted in Co. B as quarter master sergeant. He was promoted to 1st lieutenant in December 1863, to sergeant major in February 1864, and was mustered out of the service on August 1, 1865 in Petersburg, Virginia.
