Description
Lemuel Moody was active on the Portland waterfront and with the business of shipping during the late 1700s, early 1800s.
Moody, who built the Portland Observatory in 1807, also served as its keeper. He wrote an affidavit of a sea capture and time in foreign prisons and kept careful temperature readings through the years in Portland.
