Description
On June 8, 1979 a phone call was made to the airline's New York office at LaGuardia Airport saying that a bomb was set to explode enroute between Hartford and New York.
The plane, at that time 20 minutes out of Portland, returned to the airport in Maine. No bomb was found on board.
This image shows the Air New England flight 95 sitting on the runway at the Portland International Jetport while officials and a disposal team from the Brunswick Naval Air Station look for a bomb aboard the plane.
