Description
Camp Lown in Oakland held Maccabiah games -- a variant of the camp classic of "color wars" -- each summer, offering campers a Jewish experience as well as a camp experience.
Camp Lown opened in 1945 to give Jewish boys and girls from Maine a place to gather in the summer and confirm their Jewish identities, while enjoying camp activities.
