Description
The American Can Company manufactured sardine congtainers plus other cans essential for the coastal region fishing and farming industries. This view shows the still-new factory, built over the water off Johnson Street. In less than a decade this complex would become a warehouse when a larger building was erected beyond. Note the overhead sluice to the left delivering water from the large tank across the road. Note the man working high on the rightmost stack.
