Description
In 1871, the Portland Company completed work on this engine for the Maine Central Railroad. Every locomotive was given a shop number. This engine was shop #193, and was delivered November 3, 1871. One of the best types of the old wood burners, the A.D.Lockwood was ordered in 1868 by the Maine Central Railroad but came to an untimely end in 1883 in a head-on collision at Riverside, Maine.
