Description
A "Cottage Baby" plays on the floor with three of his caretakers looking on. For many years, an infant from the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers (or sometimes a child from a local family) would be brought to live in the Home Ec Cottage. A small group of students would reside in the cottage for a semester during their Junior year, sharing the responsibilities of running the household and caring for the baby. At the end of the school year, the Cottage Baby would be placed with an adoptive family or returned to the family home.
