Description
A colorful trademark label for clams, with an image of two young men digging clams on a beach with a family tending a kettle over an open fire in the background. A small sailboat is also in the background. The label contains a reference to apparently winning a gold medal in Paris in 1878 and directions for cooking clam chowder. This trademark label was submitted to the Maine Secretary of State in 1891 in order to obtain legal protection for the design.
