Description
Frank Hayden of Lewiston was listed in the 1930 census as a "horseman" at the Lewiston Fairgrounds. He had been a dealer in horses and a horse trainer.
The February 23, 1926 Lewiston Evening Journal wrote the following about harness racing, "Frank Hayden announces that, after making a careful study of the harness racing game in Maine this winter, he has come to the conclusion that the state will be the center of the horse game this summer. Never in the history of Maine, says Frank, were there so many classy trotters and pacers in the stables waiting for the snow to go as at the present time."
