Description
The pumping station at Western Avenue in Waterville was pictured here from around 1900. The photo is taken looking southward and the road on the left is probably what is now Burleigh Street. This pump is one of two used by the Kennebec Water District, formed in 1899, to bring clean water from China Lake to Waterville, Winslow, Fairfield, and and Benton.
