Description
The Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial bridge was built between 1961 and 1962 spanning the "Narrows" in Passamaquoddy Bay between Lubec and Campobello Island. Here, work on the roadway proceeds on May 2, 1962 with temporary wooden barriers on the sides. A State Route 189 sign remains in place to the left of the utility pole. The large sign to the right, mostly illegible, refers to State - Federal Highway Construction.
