Description
In 1895, steamships provided regular service to Green Acre from Portsmouth, N.H. to serve the steady stream of guests attending programs on philosophy and religion at Green Acre in Eliot. Pictured here are the Eirenion Hall built in 1897 to serve as a lecture hall and a large tent to serve the same purpose.
