Description
Charles A. Garcelon, 2nd lieutenant in Co. F of the 16th Maine Infantry, wrote to his uncle William H. Waldron, who had been discharged from the 16th Maine about a month earlier because of wounds received at Gettysburg, regarding Waldon's belongings.
Garcelon also wrote about whether to retain his position or seek a promotion. His uncle and others had advised him to keep his position, which was with the Bridgade Ambulance Corps. If he returned to his regiment, his colonel believed, Garcelon might not be "able to stand the marching and fatigue."
