Description
The caption reads, ""Stone-House," Ex-Gov. King's Residence, Bath, Maine." William King (1768-1852) served as Maine's first governor after its separation from Massachusetts in 1820. King was a wealthy business owner and politician, serving the communities of Topsham and, later, Bath.
The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1930-1945.
