Description
The caption reads, "Rear view of library from Bok Amphitheatre, Camden, Maine." In 1896 Camden citizens voted to build a free public library and raised the funds to do so. Mary Louise Curtis Bok donated the land for the library in 1916. The library opened to the public on June 11, 1928.
The Amphitheater was built in 1931 and named after donor Mary Louise Curtis Bok Zimbalist.
