Description
This compass is built into a wooden box lined with hand-colored printed paper.
It was the property of Jeremiah Clements, 1779-1866, of Westbrook. Clements served as Sgt. from Sept. 8-20, 1814, at Portland in Capt. J. Valentine's company; Lt. Col. in J. Hobbs' Regt., and was a lumber surveyor and farmer.
