The caption reads, "Garden scene, Booth Tarkington's, Kennebunkport, Maine." Booth Tarkington was a Pulitzer Prize winning author and artist. He is best known for the book "The Magnificent Ambersons." This garden is at his 'Seawood' home in Kennebunkport.
The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
