Description
The caption reads, "Memorial Bridge between Portsmouth, N.H. and Kittery, Me."
In 1920 construction on the Memorial Bridge began. It spanned the Piscataqua River from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Kittery, Maine. Construction was finished and dedicated in 1923. The Memorial Bridge was dedicated as a World War One monument but was replaced in 2011.
The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
