Description
A Board of Survey, ordered to report on a discrepancy between invoice and amount in a shipment of clothing received by Lt. Charles Bridges, a Castine native who was quartermaster of the 80th United States Colored Troops, found that John H. Rodgers, military store keeper at New Orleans, who had sent the shipment, was responsible for the loss of 69 shirts and 60 pairs of stockings.
