Description
Children on the east bank of the Kennebec River in Winslow near what is now the Fort Halifax Park area.
This view is looking north at two bridges. The closer bridge was the Ticonic Bridge for pedestrian, wagon and automobile traffic. The more distant tall steel bridge is the Maine Central Railroad bridge. Also visible is Ticonic Falls. The iron pedestrian bridge was replaced about 1911.
