Description
This is a copy of the resolve made by Biddeford's City Council after the death of Mayor Jonathan Tuck in January 1861. The Council decided to show their respects by promising to attend the funeral and by having the three city Fire Companies (Excelsior, Triumph and Pioneer) to attend as well. This was the copy sent to the Mayor's widow, Polly.
Tuck also served as a state representative, and held other town and city offices; additionally he served as Biddeford's postmaster for many years.
