Description
Men are working with wagon drills in the quarry on Carlow Island at Eastport for the Pleasant Point Dam in 1936.
The dam was part of the Passamaquoddy Tidal Power Project. The project, a long-time desire of Dexter Cooper and others, intended to make use of the large ocean tides in Passamaquoddy Bay.
Two dams were planned. Federal funding for the project lasted only one year.
