Friends and members of the Staples family are enjoying fine weather for a picnic on the beach. Having a picnic was a popular way to enjoy time away from work. The woman holding the dog is Amy Joyce Staples. Her husband Herman Staples is in the background looking out on the water and her niece Dorothy is the dark haired young woman.
